Cash back

A cash back mortgage means that the interest rate may be fixed or variable and the chosen lender will pay you a fixed amount or a percentage of the mortgage to you on completion. These funds can in turn be used for expenditure or as a deposit.

Fixed rate

A fixed rate mortgage means that the interest rate applicable to your mortgage will not change for a set period of time agreed at the offset of your mortgage.

The Mortgage Junction

This provides you with the security of knowing what your mortgage payments will be over the given Fixed period of time.

At the end of this period the interest rate will normally revert to the current variable rate.

Capped

A Capped rate mortgage is where the interest rate is guaranteed not to rise above a specified level, known as the "Cap", for a specified period of time.

This gives you the security of knowing that should interest rates rise they will not go above your specified "Cap".

When the cap period comes to an end, the interest rate will automatically become variable and your payments may increase.

Discounted

A Discounted mortgage is where the interest rate applicable to your mortgage will be a set amount below the lender's standard variable rate for a specified period.

Interest rates may vary from time to time and at the end of the specified period of time the rate will revert back to the normal variable which means your monthly payments will probably increase.

Base Rate Tracker

This type of mortgage is linked direct to the Bank of Englands base rate and will alter immediately with the changes in that rate.
